THE COMFORT OF MEMORY

THE COMFORT OF MEMORY was an installation of suspended autumn leaves shown as part of MATTERS OF LIFE AND DEATH, an exhibition staged at the disused Royal Ear Hospital In London in 2009. As viewers circle the sculpture the leaves appear to be randomly frozen as if caught by a gust of wind however as you reach a particular point in the circle the leaves align to briefly reveal the fragmented sleeping head of the artist’s elderly mother.
